Sunday afternoon, Abe, Doug, Josh & Sam (who let us crash on their floors) and I went out for some lunch at the domain for some california pizza kitchen. The Domain is one of my favorite places to shop, so I quickly hit up Diesel, Zara and Forever21 (Heritage). I even surprised my amazing sister with a denim jacket I saw at Diesel. She loved it and was incredibly happy with my taste!
I’m really digging Diesel’s latest BE STUPID campaign. It’s funny, sexy, and the catalog isn’t afraid to poke at American Apparel with their sex sells slogan.

The week is finally over and I’m quite thankful. Here’s a small recap of some of my highlights.
Sunday-Monday: fckshtup takeover south padre begins. Our great friends at Mooncussers allowed us to set up shop all week long, which made for an incredible time every single night. BIG thanks to everyone that helped out, including Nugget, Mattie, Thomas, Karla, Abe, and of course the one and only Katie Vegas.

Never Say Never Music Festival, the little project that Geo and I have been working endlessly on since November, finally came about on St Patty’s Day. 40 bands, 3 stages, one hell of a headache. Everything ran pretty smooth and I can’t thank EVERYONE involved in making it possible. Literally a list of names too long to list, but you know exactly who you are.

Friday-Sunday: SXSW in Austin with some great friends. Most of the time was spent at the Moodswing360 parties, they’re some of my favorite agents from NY I love to work with. We like to party. My favorite surprise of the weekend came from Kelley James, check out his tunes asap. This kid is going to blow up.

Super happy to announce that Pete Wentz will be making his way down to South Padre for an exclusive DJ set at Mooncussers SPI on Thursday, March 18th. Not just that, but Wentz is coming along with Madonna’s touring DJ Enferno! This is beyond awesome, and probably the biggest party to land on the island during spring break, so be sure to make your way out there after Never Say Never Festival.

I’m 25.
this stinks.
10 years ago I had a plan. I had goals. I knew exactly what I was going to be doing at 25. Boy was I wrong. I thought I was going to be an architect, probably married and have a kid. One thing I’ve learned in 25 years: nothing is ever as it seems. But it’s not a bad thing. I’ve only been 25 for 5 days and my mind has ran a marathon with thoughts on what life could or should be. That’s going to stop today.
This isn’t only a quick rant, but a lesson. So my plans went sour, big deal. I absolutely LOVE my life. I’m not an architect making money, I’m not married, and I’m pretty sure I don’t have a kid out there. Over the weekend a close friend said to me, “Zar, what you’ve done with your life thus far is beyond amazing. You’ve got it.” All I could say was “No I don’t. But I’m working on it every single day.” Simply put, there’s ALWAYS room for improvement. I’ve never sat down and settled with life, I’m always looking at ways to grow, either internally, emotionally, with my wacky businesses, and especially friends and family. I don’t really think about it, unless I literally stop…and think about it (like now). The little dino inside me pulls my shirt every day, gives me a push, or says “eat your vegetables..”
I hope your little dino is doing the same for you. Maybe he’s trying, you’re just not listening.

Big thanks to everyone that joined me for dinner on Wednesday, everyone that hung out over the weekend with me, and simply put, everyone that’s been there since day one. Although what I have accomplished with my life has been (for lack of a better word) cool, I could never be more grateful for the friends and smiles I get to see everyday that surround my life. I’m amazed by life itself and what we’re all capable of doing.

On saturday I was invited to some sort of state championship BBQ cookoff, which made for a surprisingly cute afternoon in the sun. Got to enjoy some time with some nice folks, met some new friends, and tasted some of the most amazing BBQ I’ve ever laid my hands on.
I’m supposed to spend some time with DeMarcus Ware from the Dallas Cowboys and the friends who invited me to the cookoff, so hopefully that goes thru as planned! I’d love to meet a real life monster.

Great Scott! I snapped a photo of homeboy in the DMX shirt during the show, which speaks volumes in regards to what ended up happening last night. After 5 years of doing small/big/tiny/ginormous concerts, we went through our first shut down event last night courtesy of McAllen PD and Fire Department. Someone out there didn’t want us to have Emmure in town…
