spring break schedule

Super happy to announce that Pete Wentz will be making his way down to South Padre for an exclusive DJ set at Mooncussers SPI on Thursday, March 18th. Not just that, but Wentz is coming along with Madonna’s touring DJ Enferno! This is beyond awesome, and probably the biggest party to land on the island during spring break, so be sure to make your way out there after Never Say Never Festival.

Here’s what my spring break schedule is looking like…

March 14 – DJ Skeet Skeet at Mooncussers SPI
March 15 – Inertia/GlobalGroove Party at Mooncussers w/ Maxim Magazine, DJ Dirty Thirty and Skeet Skeet
March 16 – Open?
March 17 – Never Say Never Music Festival
March 18 – Pete Wentz and DJ Enferno at Mooncussers SPI
March 19 – SXSW w/ Moodswing360
March 20 – SXSW w/ Moodswing360

Not going anywhere without my camera this spring break, so expect tons of blog updates! 🙂

Abe’s inspired me to update my blog a little more, so expect tons of more stories, photos, and weird shit. Check out his awesome 365 blog here.

Things are crazier than ever for me. I’m not one to nag, but balls, I’m drowning with projects, work, and school. One of the more exciting ones is fckshtup clothing, which is nearing it’s official launch along with a launch party. Last night Katie and I had another meeting to see where everything is at, share ideas, and drink some wine at one of my favorite eateries, house.wine. in McAllen.

Didn’t think it was going to happen again, but I’m helping out Mooncussers SPI with their spring break funtivities. So I’ve been planning and coordinating what sort of entertainment they’ll have during Texas Week, along with surrounding dates. Last year was insanely awesome, so this year should be no different.

The new Toy Story 3 trailer was released today, and boy oh boy am I excited. Doesn’t seem like it’ll match up to the wonderful storyline 1 and 2 had, but is geared toward more laughs. So many new toys! I kept smiling throughout the entire 2 and half minutes of the trailer, hopefully I’ll do the same for the entire movie on June 18th!

I had a great time over my two week vacation, mostly spent at South Padre for the several parties we held out there with Shwayze and LMFAO at Mooncussers. Both were incredibly memorable, and most of you know how I’m such of an actual fan of Shwayze, so it was such an honor to be called out on stage by the duo and have the opportunity to sing along and dance. LMFAO, fuck tits, their dance party on July 4th was out of this world. Excellent turnout with people that wanted to fckshtup and dance. Photos from that night should be coming out soon over at aberazzi.com

I’m back home, back at the office, mostly everything is back to normal. Working on what should be an incredible fall lineup of concerts. One of my best friends Adrian is moving into our home this weekend, so I’m excited to see how things will turn out. The only thing in this world thats ever certain, is uncertainty.

Pick up LMFAO’s Party Rock debut album and All Time Low’s Nothing Personal. Both released this week.

Saturday afternoon Adrian and I invited a handful of our friends to South Padre to take the boat out for some tasty drinks and tubing. Check out gabrielcastle’s blog for some nifty photos from our trip. I had no idea my vacation started this Friday, so I’ll be out for two weeks enjoying the summer sun playing softball and spending alot of time at the beach for our daytime parties at Mooncussers. Shwayze is performing on Saturday June 27th, and LMFAO is taking over the island on Saturday July 4th. I’m expecting full mayhem at Mooncussers complete with water sports, live music, a texas-sized water slide, delicious food and drinks, and boobs.

If you jerks hear anything about any sort of screenings for The Hurt Locker, please let me know. This movie looks amazing. It’ll be out in select theaters later this month, so I’m hoping it makes it’s way down to McAllen shortly after. Watch the trailer here.

A few of us decided to drive down to the beach to spend our memorial day weekend with friends and family. I had such a good time with the broskies, and wish a few more people were out with us to enjoy the amazing weather and water funtivities (ahem, geo) I am planning a ‘better organized’ weekend out there, so keep your ears finely waxed.

On Sunday, Adrian Doug Rishi and I went tubing on our own. Had some badass dinner at Big Donkey, then crashed out. I treated my parents to some delicious breakfast at Grapevine Cafe on monday morning, then took them out on the boat for funtivities. Afterwards, we took Denise and her friends out for some more fun on the boat, and jet skis at Mooncussers courtesy of Travis.

We had one near death experience under the Port Isabel bridge, got the boat literally stuck on the beach (mega FAIL), plenty of wipeouts on the bay, complete with a full backflip falling off a jet ski, and I even got nailed in the face with the kneeboard (now sporting a gash and bruise)…I’d say this beach trip was fckn amazing and eventful. Wish you were there…

Here’s the latest ad I designed for Mooncussers for their Memorial Day Weekend funtivities. You can count on me being out there friday night up until Saturday evening, or sunday morning. I’m pretty excited about going out there and catching the fireworks and enjoying the sun with friends. It’s hard to believe, but I have NEVER witnessed the SPI fireworks display over the bay. If you’re in town, drop by Mooncussers and talk to Travis. He’ll set you up on the waverunners for the cheapest price on the island.

It’s been a fairly slow week so I found some time to hit up the movie theater and watched Rudo y Cursi on monday evening. Highly recommended; depicts a great story about two brothers and their love/hate relationship with one another, mostly competitive on their soccer career dreams.

fckshtup survival guide – pt 1

It’s all fun and games until someone gets butthurt. Safe to say that the past week and a half has been quite eventful, so here’s my personal fckshtup spring break guide. While it may all look like a non-stop party, there was plenty of work being done behind the scenes. In essence, this was my office for an entire week. Giddy up…

1. Don’t leave home without Doug.
Sounds easy enough, but these bad boys who once played collegiate football are hard to find gems. I’ve known Doug since the third grade, consider him one of my best friends, doesn’t usually make the right decisions, but he instantly becomes the life of the party in 8.2 seconds, almost as fast as his 40 yard sprint. With crazy spring break broskies lurking around town, or stragglin’ ghetto hoes looking to party, this 6’5″ monster truck handles the dirty work.

2. Spring Break Kicks
One can never have enough sneakers, so I hit the interwebs and found my favorite pair of personally-dubbed spring break kicks and sent them my way via 2 day air, just in time for the welcome party celebrations at the island.

3. Find a bed
We were lucky enough that we had several friends with beach houses during our week long stay. Robert, my ticket agent, and his friend Albert snatched up a delicious two story gem where they invited us to stay. I grabbed a small twin-sized bed downstairs and made myself a little comfortable for a few nights. Otherwise I simply slept wherever I found space.

4. Extra Curricular Activities
My favorites included flying kites, riding the jetskis, my longboard, and our midnight boat ride to Mooncussers. I bought a few kites for us, which Abe completely stunk at flying. Mine went up 45,000 feet in the air, only to make a crash landing on an electric pole, which the instructions clearly read to stay away from. The jetskis were dope, I’m planning to go back this weekend just to do it again. Katie Vegas rode with me and she faceplanted on the water twice…I really wish we had pictures. The best/worst part was being on the phone half the time trying to work out the Shwayze show at SPI, while on the jetski, but more on that later.

5. Throw a Festival
In the midst of all the madness that was our spring break events, which included parties with DJ Skeet Skeet and LMFAO, throw a mega scaled festival. Went to bed at 5 am, woke up at 6 to pick up the dudes in LMFAO to start our drive back to Mission. The Never Say Never festival was amazing, and is sure to have its own blog later. We all hustled and did something that we have never done before, and we’re all proud to say that we did it, zero sponsorships and zero investors. In an interview with The Monitor, I said I only had $80 in my account the day of the festival, and that was no lie. We put everything into this, and we’re extremely happy.

6. Hand out business cards
I’ve got to give credit to whoever invented business cards. I’ve always had some, but don’t ever really use them, and boy am I an idiot. It’s so easy. All week I’d simply give out my card to spring breakers to help promote our parties, and wow did it work! The texts wouldn’t stop. Which brings me to my next point, don’t forget your chargers. I literally lived in cars for two days just charging my phone.

I’ll add more to the guide later, once I can steal some of the unseen Abe‘s pictures still hidden in his laptop.

I’ve strayed away from the wired world for the FCKSHTUP week, and it’s been surreal. I’ve got so many stories to tell, but pictures usually do better justice. Much love to my boy Abe for his amazing talent of storytelling through a lens. My recollection is a little off, but I’ll try to explain a picture or two. BIG thanks to my new friendskie Albert (pictured below) from San Antonio for providing us a beautiful beach house to kick it all week, along with other goodies.

Saturday night was our welcome party, which started at Club Pelican West for Paul’s event. We spent a while there before checking out Padre Rock, which turned out to be a little hectic. Doug, Abe, and Rishi got sprayed with pepper spray (along with 50 other spring breakers) as a fight broke out inside the club. I was  lost but then I was found. “Come with me” Henry is another new friend I’ve met over the past week, he’s taken care of us a few times and I can’t thank him enough.

After some lame weather over the weekend, blue skies came about Monday morning. Seeing as we were hosting DJ Skeet Skeet that evening at Mooncussers (which is mostly outdoors), we were quite relieved. It’s time to dance. Doug and I drove to Brownsville to pick up the dudes in LMFAO, then drove back to pick up Trevor at the airport.

While Doug stayed behind with the party rock crew, Abe and I visited our favorite seafood spot on the island – Dirty Al’s. Al must be killing it, it’s always ridiculously packed and dude just walks around with his mighty cup of gin.

I’ve met tons of awesome new people over the past week, including Jessica from Arkansas (below). She’s sort of a country gal, loves her boyfriend, been sheltered most of her life, and couldn’t believe what she was seeing at the island. We tried showing their friends a good time at our parties. I hope they made it back  home safe and sound.

Doug’s getting after me about leaving the house to head back to the beach, so I’ll post another blog tomorrow before I head to Austin for SXSW. SO MUCH MORE TO COME! We were planning to leave today but after a broken car window, we got stranded and have to wait to fix it. But tomorrow, it’s on.
