The week is finally over and I’m quite thankful. Here’s a small recap of some of my highlights.
Sunday-Monday: fckshtup takeover south padre begins. Our great friends at Mooncussers allowed us to set up shop all week long, which made for an incredible time every single night. BIG thanks to everyone that helped out, including Nugget, Mattie, Thomas, Karla, Abe, and of course the one and only Katie Vegas.
Never Say Never Music Festival, the little project that Geo and I have been working endlessly on since November, finally came about on St Patty’s Day. 40 bands, 3 stages, one hell of a headache. Everything ran pretty smooth and I can’t thank EVERYONE involved in making it possible. Literally a list of names too long to list, but you know exactly who you are.
Pete Wentz DJ set at Mooncussers South Padre was bonkers.
Friday-Sunday: SXSW in Austin with some great friends. Most of the time was spent at the Moodswing360 parties, they’re some of my favorite agents from NY I love to work with. We like to party. My favorite surprise of the weekend came from Kelley James, check out his tunes asap. This kid is going to blow up.

Super happy to announce that Pete Wentz will be making his way down to South Padre for an exclusive DJ set at Mooncussers SPI on Thursday, March 18th. Not just that, but Wentz is coming along with Madonna’s touring DJ Enferno! This is beyond awesome, and probably the biggest party to land on the island during spring break, so be sure to make your way out there after Never Say Never Festival.
Here’s what my spring break schedule is looking like…
March 14 – DJ Skeet Skeet at Mooncussers SPI
March 15 – Inertia/GlobalGroove Party at Mooncussers w/ Maxim Magazine, DJ Dirty Thirty and Skeet Skeet
March 16 – Open?
March 17 – Never Say Never Music Festival
March 18 – Pete Wentz and DJ Enferno at Mooncussers SPI
March 19 – SXSW w/ Moodswing360
March 20 – SXSW w/ Moodswing360
Not going anywhere without my camera this spring break, so expect tons of blog updates! 🙂

Mark’s Dirty Thirty birthday celebration in Vegas is now officially over. He’s one of the men responsible for so many great things happening down here in South Texas (Nowhere Clothing, Roosevelts at 7, Mooncussers SPI). In fckshtup greatness, we all flew to Las Vegas to help him celebrate his 30th.
As soon as we arrived at Mandalay Bay, we hit up Eyecandy Lounge for a few drinks. Eyecandy is surrounded by all the table games, and I’m a roulette kid, so I stayed around and bet on all of my numbers. After a few hours of drinky drinks and hitting the tables, we all went to one of Mark’s favorite local spots – Peppermill. Amazing pancakes with bananas!
Friday afternoon was a personal day. Doug Geo Alex and I did our own thing, hitting up shops and friendly bars for threads and drinks. We absolutely had to have California Pizza Kitchen, moreso since neither of the guys had ever tried it.
More gambling, drinking. Late in the evening we all met up again to hit up LAVO at the Palazzo. These pictures are all courtesy of Alex, who must have taken at least 1,000 shots throughout the night.
By 2 am, I was exhausted, literally running to my hotel room as soon as we got back with Doug yelling, “Zar, come back! Let’s hit up the tables! NOOO.” The next morning we met up with Rey and Chrissy at their hotel next door. We gambled a small bit and had lunch with them while we waited for the cabana to be ready. Saturday night we danced at LAX at the Luxor, which was pretty amazing. We didn’t take any pictures though. Afterwards we continued our luck at blackjack and roulette.
HERO WORSHIP
Much love to everyone that hit Vegas hard – Mark and Jessica, Alex Macias, Travis and Hector, our new friends from LA and Daniel from NY (which looks slightly like DJ AM), Geo Abe Doug and Alex, Rey Chrissy and Christina (hope you guys enjoyed your time out there). I’m so happy I’m back home, sometimes Vegas doesn’t treat you too nicely with gambling.

No one ever said it was going to be easy.
My first subscriber issue of 944 Magazine came in yesterday, along with 2,000 NSN stickers that are heading straight to the trash bin, several packages of band promo, and the last minute valentine’s day goodies for my lover. Somebody is really out to get us both, and we laugh it off with a glass of wine and cheese sticks.
I also got some of the most amazing news yesterday regarding Pete Wentz, my public man crush. It’s okay, every boy out there nowadays is expected to have at least two. Society said it was kinda cool. He’s not coming down or anything, at least just yet – so don’t start spreading rumors like your exgirlfriend did about your confidence problem.
Paul and I had an extensive phone conversation last night about the industry, and how nuts it is. He’s the man behind Global Groove, responsible for the baddest parties all over Texas, including ALL of Spring Break at South Padre, mega concerts in Laredo, parties in Austin, huge events in the East Coast – he does it all. Paul’s from London, talks with a strong accent, and is exactly the kind of person that you wish you worked with on a daily basis – humble, excited, and a great friend.
I need a haircut.
