I’m so glad I was invited to visit the Old Hidalgo Pumphouse along with about 100 students yesterday. I had absolutely no idea how much history Hidalgo has had since its inception. I felt like I was one of the kids on the tour, enjoying some nifty games and listening to some of the stories, all while I was taking pictures. The purpose of the trip was to encourage migrant youngsters to stay active in their reading and learning materials while they travel to various states. I was one of those migrant kids growing up. My parents would take heavy duty jobs in Minnesota and North Carolina during our summers. It’s tough, cause we’d leave school earlier than everyone else and come back weeks after school started. So you end up being that one kid that has no friends.
I really am looking to volunteer alot of time with kids during the summer. If you know of any nifty afterschool or summer programs available, I’d love to be apart of something. I miss you!

I know that feeling very well. It sucks, especially when you’re in high school and you miss more than half the football season, homecoming, pep-rallys and pictures. On top of that you just feel very displaced, and all your friends from back home just move on without ya. Yup, yup yup, thats how it is. Anywho, great shots dude.
