Dino-Rawr?

Dino-Rawr?

Here’s a quick hand drawn sketch of myself that I worked on earlier today. I’m definitely going to make it my default real soon, since I haven’t had a legit one for quite a while. Maybe Abe will help me out with his photo ‘david blane’ magic.

And here’s a picture that my amazing sister handed me today. If you look closely, that’s me at bat during our softball game. 1 for 1 at bat so far. I can’t stress enough how much fun this sh-t is. I wished you were there to see us play, even if we did look like a bunch of 3rd graders.

Bring it.

Bring it.

ENFERNOSHINESATURDAYPARTYGIRLSBOYSBOOZEFRIENDSMUSICFUCKYESAFTERPARTY

Let’s get this party right, let’s get drunk and freaky-fied. You’re all invited to my official birthday party at Shine, past the velvet ropes and floor filled with sexy stares. As we finish the bottles at Shine, we’re all heading to my house for the afterparty till 5 am. This won’t be your typical saturday outing, my promise to you. Great way to keep my mind away from all the negativity.

Superman Rey covering 3rd Base

Superman Rey covering 3rd Base

Dante’s Inferno. David vs Goliath. Defending the Alamo. Call of Duty Demolition. Label it whatever you’d like, a firefight broke out last night at the inaugural softball game for the Isotopes. We all had the first game jitters, from our returning starters to the virgin newcomers such as myself. Before the start of the game I visited Academy to purchase some much-needed baseball cleats and batting gloves, Sharyland red bleeding through. We toss the ball, warm up our gloves, take practice swings, prep our shoes. We are here, the young gun Isotopes are looking for blood.

Three in, three out. Man on first, stealing second after a fumbled pitch, another single down left field! 4 balls, take your base, “run as soon as it makes contact!” Sweat pours down over our eyes, the moon is shining bright to reveal our fearless fronts, and the Isotopes are swinging for the fence. I take the plate, ball one. My banana hands choke the neck of the bat, leather rubbing against each other, one more practice swing and the pitcher rushes his toss. I glance up and here it comes, take my stance and rip one over their third baseman and short stop. It wasn’t enough…

Final Score: 21-0

F*** MY LIFE.

Honestly, we got our asses handed to us on a doggie bowl, jerked off and left for dead after an exorcism. Those dudes were good, and do not belong in our “development” league, aka the drunk and disorderly league. But I can’t express how much FUN I had. I’ve never really been in any sort of organized sports besides basketball at Teacher Academy (now defunct, BETA today). My family came out to support, along with Geo, Adrian, Diane, Sophie, and Chrissy. I didn’t take too many pictures, but the one above is of Rey trying to play third base. It’s safe to say that we all stunk, but it was a such blasty blast and I can’t wait for our next game on Tuesday at 7 pm. Last night’s game was a great way to spend my 24th birthday.

THANK YOU to those that blasted me with texts, facebook goodies and myspace comments. I really appreciate your well-hearted support.

Minnesota is for migrant workers

Minnesota is for migrant workers

I visited my parents for lunch this afternoon, so my mom and I looked over some photo albums to kill spare time. My parents were migrant workers for a good part of their life, so we always traveled to Minnesota and North Carolina while I was young. In Minnesota they worked the tobacco fields, so I’d go to preschool in the afternoons and walk back home, past the haunted water well and over the train tracks. There was at least 5 or 6 families that lived in one two-story home, don’t know whose it was…but we lived there. I remember this day vividly. This was our official portrait polaroid. I took my copy home and my mom completely flipped that I wore one jacket sleeve up while the other was obviously down. Yikes! I thought it was a great picture, still one of my favorites.

Doesn’t feel like a birthday week at all; Tomorrow I turn 24 and we have our first softball game at 10 pm, so I’m not making any plans. We’re playing at the Ware Road park across the McAllen Convention Center, so come out if you want a good laugh. Practice last night was amazing; I had some good hits while at bat and am probably playing as a second baseman. Doug will probably be covering 1st base.

I just started playing Call of Duty online, which I had been trying to avoid. I’m not much of a gamer, but I do have small trends where I pick up a hobby and do it religiously for about two weeks. I never thought it’d be that much fun. If you’re on, hit me up…my gamertag is dinozar.

Buddy

Buddy

My friend Diane surprised me with an early birthday present last night. I’d like for you all to meet Buddy. Buddy is still a few weeks old, enjoys naps, meows like a bengal, spends time on my tummy, loves the finer-looking señoritas around the neighborhood, and attacks on demand. He spent his first night between my sheets already, and seems to have taken a liking in me. Out of the four that Diane brought over for me to choose, he was the only kitten to jump on my lap on his own. I wonder what he’s up to right now. My guess is either eating up my shoelaces or uncovering Rey’s secret stash of porn. I’ll be following him around and taking more pictures soon, but all I could grab last night was the one above with Geo’s iphone.

Thank You Diane! You can check out her blog here. She’s a make-up artist extraordinaire, with tons of cool tips and tricks.

Pete Wentz and Travis McCoy - The Showman

Pete Wentz and Travis McCoy - "The Showman"

Gym Class Hereos & Fall Out Boy have been on rotation - Travis and Pete – two strangers I’ve learned to respect. You’ll never understand. Nothing is as perfect as it seems. I’ll let my silence do the talking. I can’t be anymore thankful for my true friends and family that have put up with my sh-t. But I am here, and that’s all I can ever ask for.

Is there a new me on the horizon? Who am I anyway? I’m just a confused young man from Texas.

I didn’t think it was physically possible, but this both sucks *and* blows.

The only good news I have for you is that I’m apart of a softball team with some of my friends. We’re called The Isotopes and we had our first practice on sunday and as I predicted, I was the absolute BEST at not hitting the ball with the bat. I think I took about six strikes before I finally connected. But hey, it’s been like 10 years since I picked up a glove and bat.

We caught the midnight showing of Friday the 13th, which was just about what I expected. It could have been more serious, unless they were intending to push comedic value with cheesy lines and predictable characters, yet it still delivered a gruesome Jason Voorhes which I hope to see more of in the next few years. There’s a few laughable scenes that I could have gone without - “Where are you, gun?” – which relieves the tension and reminds you that you’re just watching a movie, as opposed to being “in” the movie - hard to accomplish, but usually results in the best movie going experiences. Trust me, you’ve seen way worst “Friday the 13th” films in the franchise, I think you’ll be pleasantly pleased with their latest attempt, and as I had mentioned in previous posts - Willa Ford rules, just not her music career.

And speaking of gorey slashers with machetes and frontal nudity, Valentines Day is tomorrow. My hunny bunny pictured above and I have yet to make definite plans, but more than likely will consist of hugs, kisses, sushi take-out, privacy, volleyball, puppies and a Van Damme film, probably Bloodsport.

I cannot wait for this.

I’m okay, I think. Never Say Never festival is coming along nicely. Another meeting at the race park last night with one of the few sound production companies that will be apart of the fiasco. I’m on page 29 from the 120 of 944 magazine; taking my time, just like a nice piece of steak.
